ANLIK DEPREM is a project by Ottomate Systems. This page explains what data the site collects when you use it and how it's used. We don't sell personal data and don't collect more than the service needs to work.
To show earthquakes near you and their distance, the site requests browser geolocation access (or, if denied, approximates your location from your IP address). Coordinates are processed in your browser and aren't stored on our servers. To turn coordinates into a city name, we use third-party reverse-geocoding services (BigDataCloud, OpenStreetMap Nominatim, ipapi.co) — they receive your coordinates or IP address; their own privacy policies govern how they handle that data.
If you manually pick a city via search, that choice is stored only in your browser's local storage (localStorage) — it isn't sent to our servers and isn't tied to your identity.
The name, email, and message you enter in the form on the "About Us" page are sent via the third-party service formsubmit.co to our email, and are used only to reply to you. We don't use this data for newsletters or any other purpose.
To show the weather near an earthquake, the site queries Open-Meteo, sending the location's coordinates (not tied to your identity). The map is built on OpenStreetMap / Esri tiles. Earthquake data comes from the public sources USGS, EMSC, AFAD, and Kandilli Rasathanesi — these requests don't include any of your personal data.
The site uses the Google AdSense advertising network. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or at aboutads.info.
Your browser (not our servers) may locally store: a manually picked city, your chosen color theme, and your chosen interface language. You can clear this at any time via your browser settings.
The site links to external sources (USGS, EMSC, AFAD, Kandilli, and others). We aren't responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party sites.
The site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data about them.
We may update this page as the site evolves. The last-updated date is shown at the top of the page.
